Dr. Abeer Alshammari

Founder of CyberAbeer, GreenTrust AI, and CyberAbeer Labs

Dr. Abeer Alshammari is a cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) practitioner with more than 20 years of experience building and maturing enterprise security programs.

Her work spans cybersecurity policy and control frameworks, risk assessment across application, infrastructure, cloud, data, and third-party domains, and coordinating internal and external audits. She founded CyberAbeer to bring that same practitioner discipline to AI governance, through GreenTrust AI, and to security education, through CyberAbeer Labs.

In parallel with her GRC leadership work, Dr. Abeer serves as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and cybersecurity strategic consultant, advising organizations on security strategy, risk posture, and governance at the executive and board level. She works with leadership teams to turn cybersecurity risk into clear business decisions and practical maturity roadmaps.

    Leads and matures enterprise cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programs, develops security policies and control frameworks, conducts cybersecurity risk assessments across applications, infrastructure, cloud, data, and third-party services, and coordinates internal and external audits while supporting regulatory compliance and continual improvement.

  2. 2019 to 2022

    Cybersecurity GRC Program and Team Lead

    Built an enterprise GRC program from the ground up, including governance frameworks, a full policy suite, and audit-ready processes, while leading and developing a risk and compliance team.
